Two kinds. The first is what you hand over directly. The contact forms collect your name, your email address, what you are interested in, and whatever you type in the message box. The forms do not ask for a phone number. If I have your number, it is because you typed it into the chat widget, called, texted, or wrote it in a message yourself. Nothing on this site asks for card numbers, government identification, or medical information.
The second kind is collected automatically while you browse: IP address, browser and device type, which pages you read, how long you stayed, and what referred you. That comes from Google Analytics and from the customer relationship tools behind the forms. It exists to tell me which pages are useful, not to work out who you are.
The chat widget is the one place on this site where you can opt in to text messages. Start a chat, give your number there, and you are consenting to be contacted about flight instruction by call or text. Calling or texting me directly does the same thing. I use it to answer your question, schedule lessons, and confirm or move appointments.
Message frequency varies with the conversation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to end messages, or HELP for assistance, or just call the number above and say so. Consent to messages is never a condition of buying anything.
I do not sell your phone number, and I do not share mobile information with any third party or other organization for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers collected for text messaging go no further than the service providers listed below, who process them only on my behalf.
Not used for automated decision making, and not used to build advertising profiles.
A short list of providers who handle information on my behalf and may not use it for their own purposes: Google Analytics for measurement, LeadConnector for storing inquiries and handling calls and texts, and the website host that serves these pages. Each gets only what its job requires. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
This site uses cookies for analytics. They tell me how many people visit and what they read. Block or delete them in your browser and every part of this site still works. If you would rather Google Analytics did not measure your visit at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on.
Inquiries that never become clients are deleted after two years. Records of instruction actually given are kept longer, because a flight instructor is required to retain instruction and endorsement records. Analytics data follows Google's default retention schedule.
Email [email protected] and ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Reply STOP to end texts. Ask to be removed from contact entirely and it happens. Texas residents, and residents of other states with privacy laws, may have further rights, and those requests get handled the same way.
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Inquiries about training a minor should come from a parent or guardian.
Pages are served over HTTPS and inquiries sit in access-controlled systems. No transmission or storage method is perfectly secure, so absolute security is not something anyone can honestly promise. What I can promise is not keeping more than I need, or keeping it longer than I need it.
Updates get posted here with a new date at the top. Anything material about how your phone number is used will be said plainly rather than buried.
